# $Id: README,v 1.1 2003/12/09 15:40:12 petef Exp $ A simple collecter for PEG data on a Unix network interface. This can be useful when we don't (can't) monitor the switch, but we can monitor the host. This is known to work on FreeBSD, Solaris, HP-UX 11, AIX 5, and mostly on Linux. This has a good chance of working on any other sane operating system with a reasonable netstat command. HP-UX's netstat doesn't give us error counts, so we fake it and report 0 for ierr and oerr. Even if we could get them, we don't report non-unicast statistics at all. -- ksb, petef
